Microsoft’s acquisition of ZeniMax — and by extension, Bethesda — has not yet wrapped up. That said, it seems Bethesda’s Todd Howard is still out and about talking like the deal is going to go through without a hitch. The Develop:Brighton Conference took place recently, and included an interview with Howard about Bethesda and its future. In that interview, which you can watch here, Howard dropped some very interesting news about both Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6.

If you’re an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, you’re going to like this news.

According to Howard, Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6 will launch directly into Xbox Game Pass on day one. This may not be surprising to some, but it at least confirms what, up to this point, had been unconfirmed.

Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda is going to be a tiny bit different than its purchase of other studios, in that Bethesda is going to retain a bit of autonomy, continuing to publish its own games and so on. That could have potentially meant Bethesda’s own games were treated differently than other Xbox Game Studios titles, too, so it’s nice to hear that won’t be the case. Based on this news, t’s likely safe to assume all Bethesda games will hit Xbox Game Pass on launch day.

Hopefully we get more Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6 updates soon. Once we do, you’ll find them here.
